Edwin Reich was the son of the lawyer Dr. Ludwik Jozef Reich. He was only enrolled at the University for World Trade during the winter semester 1937/38. Due to his Jewish ancestry, he was denied the opportunity to continue his studies after the 'Anschluss' of Austria. In Vienna, he initially lived at Schönbrunner Straße 88 A (12th district), and from mid-January 1938 he was registered at Rembrandtstraße 11/1/7 (2nd district). On the same day that the Wehrmacht marched into Austria (March 12, 1938), he left Vienna for an unknown destination. His further fate is unknown.
