As a secondary school student, Georg Schueller attended the Realgymnasium Mauer, which was housed in the former Gräflich Breda'sches Landhaus (Lange Gasse 113-115) from 1929 and was run by Professor Wilhelm Rainer until the 'Anschluss' of Austria to the 'Third Reich'. Between the winter semester of 1936/37 and the winter semester of 1937/38, he was enrolled at the University for World Trade for three semesters. During his studies, Schueller lived in his parents' villa at Mühlbachergasse 12 (13th district of Vienna). As a Jew, he was no longer allowed to participate in classes and exams after the Wehrmacht's invasion of Austria.

At the end of October 1938, Schueller left Austria aiming for Hollywood. In the USA, he Americanized his name to George K. Schueller. In California, he found employment at the Hoover Institute and Library on War, Revolution, and Peace at Stanford University. At this institution, he published political and historical writings in which he dealt with the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. In particular, studies were created on the leadership elite of the Third Reich (The Nazi Elite), on the Soviet Politburo (both 1951), and on the military leadership in the Soviet sphere of influence (1956). At the Hoover Institute, he is also said to have met his first wife Elena (born on December 1, 1925, as the daughter of Basilius and Valentina Djatschenko, died on September 4, 1995), who had arrived in the USA in 1948.

In early 1950, Schueller briefly returned to Mühlbachergasse but maintained his official residence in Palo Alto, California. The same was true for another stay in Vienna starting in June 1954. In the meantime, he had married Audrey A. Olson (born 1924 in St. Paul) and was the father of a son who was born in July 1953 in Palo Alto. Although Schueller remained registered at Sauraugasse 9 (13th district) until 1957, he left Vienna in September 1954. Most recently, Schueller was registered in Silver Spring (Maryland). He died on January 13, 1988.

Particular mention should be made of the fate of the family business Schueller & Co. AG, which had 1,000 workers and employees in 1938. With its main office at Zieglergasse 10 (7th district of Vienna) and further branches in Lower Austria and Budapest, the company was 'Aryanized' after the 'Anschluss' of Austria and taken over by Adler Textilwerke AG in 1941. During World War II, operations were temporarily halted in some of the factories. Georg's father, Commercial Councillor Dr. Hans Schueller, had to relinquish the management of the company; furthermore, he lost his position as chairman of the Association of Handicraft Yarn and Sewing Thread Industry under the Nazi regime. In 1948, the family was returned their company.
