Hans Bader was the son of the Vienna-based representative Wilhelm Bader and Cäcilie, née Batscha or Batschka. His parents were married in Vienna-Landstraße in 1918.
Following his attendance at the Realgymnasium Wien XVIII (then and now located at Schopenhauer Straße 49), Hans was enrolled in the diploma program at the University for World Trade for the winter semester of 1937/38. At that time, he lived in his parents' apartment at Weimarer Straße 17/9 (18th district of Vienna).
Under the provisions of the Nuremberg Race Laws of 1935, Hans Bader, as a Jew, was forced to give up his studies following the ‘Anschluss’ of Austria in March 1938. According to registration information, he "emigrated" from Austria in August 1938. By 1939, he was living in the city of Prague, which was occupied by the Nazis in March 1939 and became part of the German-controlled Reich Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. At least in November 1939, he was registered at Žatecká 4, near the Old Town Square. From there, Hans attempted to emigrate to Peru, but in vain, as on October 16, 1941, he was deported along with 999 other individuals from Mánesova 34 on transport No. 621 to the Litzmannstadt/Łódź ghetto. He was murdered at an unknown time there. Thus, Hans Bader was not among the 27 individuals of transport 621 who survived the Holocaust.
His name is inscribed on the memorial, which was unveiled on 8 May 2014 on the campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
