Hans Liatscheff was enrolled at the University for World Trade for five semesters between the winter semester 1935/36 and the winter semester 1937/38. The mandatory colloquia he completed after the fourth semester, which he took between October 1937 and January 1938, were his last examinations at the university. Although he was advanced in his studies, the Jewish student was denied the completion of his diploma studies after the 'Anschluss' of Austria.
Liatscheff left the apartment at Blaasstraße 33 (19th District of Vienna), where he had been registered since June 1935, on December 19, 1938, to move to Paris.
During World War II, he joined the French liberation army (Forces françaises libres), which Charles de Gaulle established in exile in London in June 1940. It is documented that Liatscheff was stationed as a lieutenant in a pioneer unit in Lebanon in October 1941. He lost his life on September 5, 1943, as a result of an accident; at that time, he belonged to the administrative staff of the 1st Division of the Forces françaises libres. Hans Liatscheff was buried in the cemetery of Nabeul (Tunisia).
