The English version is based on a translation by Artificial Intelligence. The authentic version is the German version.

Kurt Waldapfel completed the six semesters of the diploma program entirely between the winter semester 1933/34 and the summer semester 1937. After that, he submitted his thesis, which was assessed as a "rather good work". Additionally, he completed parts of the diploma examination. However, he did not participate in the third examination (in economics and business administration), which was scheduled for March 18, 1938, after the Wehrmacht's invasion of Austria. The 'Anschluss' of this country to National Socialist Germany thus prevented the successful completion of the diploma studies.

Furthermore, Waldapfel was forced to leave Austria. On September 13, 1938, he vacated the apartment at Paulusgasse 5/13 (3rd district of Vienna), where he had been registered since 1930, to seek safety in Palestine via Turkey. In this British Mandate territory, Waldapfel survived the Holocaust and the Second World War.

At the end of September 1947, he returned to Vienna, and in January of the following year, he married the almost age-mate Margarete Brozek (born May 12, 1914, in Vienna). However, he did not resume or complete the forcibly interrupted studies.

On June 30, 1983, Kurt Waldapfel was buried in the Baumgarten cemetery. Here rests his wife as well; she passed away at the age of 85.
