Frieda Palker was enrolled at the University for World Trade for four semesters between the winter semester 1936/37 and the summer semester 1938. Although she consistently achieved excellent exam results, she could no longer participate in the academic program after the 'Anschluss' of Austria due to her Jewish descent. On June 20, 1938, she was deregistered from the university, and there is no record of a withdrawal certificate in the preserved documents. The last exam she was able to take at the University for World Trade was the first (general) exam (February 14, 1938).

On July 31, 1938, Palker married Haim David Oliver in Vienna, who had also studied at the University for World Trade until the 'Anschluss' of Austria. This day was the last opportunity to enter into a marriage legally before a rabbi; according to „Gesetz zur Vereinheitlichung des Rechts der Eheschließung und der Ehescheidung im Lande Österreich und im übrigen Reichsgebiet“ from July 6, 1938, a marriage contracted from the following day was only valid if conducted before a civil registrar. Until August 12, 1938, she was registered at Hadikgasse 150/1 (13th district of Vienna). After the wedding, she left Austria and moved to Sofia with her husband.
