Before György Hajdú moved to Vienna, he attended the Higher Commercial School in Budapest. While studying in Vienna, he lived at Schwindgasse 20/1 (4th district). As a Jewish student, he could only study for one semester at the University for World Trade (Winter semester 1937/38). He was deregistered on May 5, 1938; a transfer certificate is not documented.

György Hajdú is likely – like six other members of the Hajdú family from his hometown Gyöngyös – a victim of the Holocaust. Among them was his father Dezső (Desider), who had operated a wine business in Gyöngyös before World War II and was a member of the local Jewish council. The Hajdú family was presumably murdered after the German Wehrmacht occupied Hungary (March 1944). The exact circumstances and timing of György's death are not known. His father (born 1886 as the son of Jozsef Herzfelder and Rezi Deutsch) was killed on June 17 or July 17, 1944, in the extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau/Oświęcim by poison gas.
