From the medical studies that the son of the doctor Dr. Josef Joachim Grübel, who passed away in 1934, and Helene Grübel (née Halberthal) completed between 1931 and 1936 at the University of Vienna, two semesters were credited to him at the University for World Trade. Here, Grübel was enrolled in the winter semester of 1936/37 and the summer semester of 1937. On February 15, 1938, he passed his final examination, the first (general) examination. Like his younger sister Herta, Theodor had to leave the University for World Trade after the 'Anschluss' of Austria due to his Jewish descent.
The apartment at Nickelgasse 1/1/4 (2nd Viennese district), where Theodor had lived for several years with his mother and sister, was vacated by him at the beginning of August 1938. The country to which he emigrated is unknown; it is only certain that he left the 'Greater German Reich'. Possibly, he found refuge like Herta in London. His further fate is unknown.
